About Little Caesars Arena

Little Caesars Arena opened in 2017 as the centerpiece of The District Detroit. The first plans for the venue took form in 1987, but construction didn’t begin until 2014. Ilitch Holdings, the parent company of the Red Wings, also owns Little Caesars, and named the arena after the iconic pizza chain.11

The arena spans 885,000 square feet, and includes an enclosed, translucent-roofed concourse.1 It seats over 18,000 guests and offers unique amenities like accommodations for guests with sensory needs.4

On non-event days, the Via concourse connects street-level traffic to restaurants, shops, and office spaces. The integrative design makes the arena feel merged with the entertainment district rather than closed off from it.11
